Willful sins are not forgiven!

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

This was Jesus’ prayer to God when He was dying on the cross. I have been encouraged to forgive those who did wrong to me instead of cursing them. Also I believe there should be people who quote this scripture justifying their sinful life. They may think they are forgiven because of this prayer.

Here is another popular verse, which might be confusing to some people.

I Timothy 1:13
Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

These verses don’t give you any permission to sin. They are for non-believers, who don’t know Jesus and His commandments, and for those who repent their sins.

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

As a Christian we have the truth since God wrote His Law in our heart when we were born again by the Spirit of God. We don’t sin because He lives in us and we live His life. Remember He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life as well as the Word!

Hebrews 10:26
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

If you think or act as if you were innocent enough to sin after you became a Christian, you would be a liar and deny the power of the Holy Spirit. You would be thrown into the lake of fire unless you truly turn back to the Lord.

Are you still willing to enjoy your favorite sins? Repent before it is too late and Jesus will forgive you and lead you unto righteousness. May God bless you!
